ELIXIR All Hands 2018

PhenoHarmoIS 2018 Workshop
The PhenoHarmonIS 2018 workshop took place in Montpellier, May 14-18, 2018, focusing on Semantics for Harmonization and Integration of Phenotypic and Agronomic Data. The clear overlap in scope between the workshop and the ELIXIR plant sciences use-case meant that the latter was heavily represented
ELIXIR Staff Exchange - Final Workshop
From the 16th to the 17th of April the Final Workshop of the ELIXIR Staff Exchange is taking place at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC), and Instituto Tecnológico de Química e Biologia (ITQB) in Oeiras.

The 11th RDA Plenary Meeting took place from the 21st to the 23rd March 2018 in Berlin, Germany, with the theme being "From Data to Knowledge". ELIXIR PT was represented by two of its members
CODATA RDM Symposium
From March 18 th to 20 th members of the Biodata.pt team took part in the CODATA RDM Symposium at the Göttingen University in Göttingen, Germany. João Cardoso presented an abstract on the "Application of the Concept of Machine-Actionable Data Management Plan in ELIXIR".
MIAPPE to RDF workshop in Oeiras

ELIXIR Staff Exchange
From December 12th to 14th members of the ELIXIR PT team took part in a staff exchange event at the Wageningen University & Research in Wageningen, Netherlands.
Compute Platform F2F Meeting
INESC-ID participated in the F2F meeting of participants in the development of the compute platform of ELIXIR in Prague on June 19-20. The ELIXIR team outlined plans in for 2017/2018, along current and future implementation studies (More information here). ELIXIR-PT joined recently the development
Raising awareness to the use of data standards in plant sciences
The use of controlled vocabularies in plant data description was presented and discussed in the context of a tutorial given by Inês Chaves (Forest Biotech Lab - iBET/ITQB NOVA) to the PhD students of the ITQB International PhD Program in Plant Sciences “ Plants for Life”.

ELIXIR PT at the 2nd Fórum de Gestão de Dados de Investigação
On March the 31st the second Fórum de Gestão de Dados de Investigação took place at the Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações, in Lisbon. ELIXIR PT was represented by four of its members, with Mário J. Silva presenting a short talk on ELIXIR PT.
