About me
With a globally oriented academic and professional journey, I hold a BSc in Bioinformatics from the Polytechnic of Setúbal and an MSc in Evo-Devo Biology from the University of Lisbon. My international experience includes an Erasmus+ internship at KU Leuven, participation in the (Fulbright) SUSI program in the United States, and active contributions to ELIXIR Portugal as a Junior Data Steward.
I have honed skills in FAIR data management, metadata curation, and cross-border collaboration on projects such as genomic data analysis and soil ontologies. Additionally, I conducted research at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência as part of the Population and Conservation Genetics Group, focusing on the comparative demography of endangered species using genomic data.
I am passionate about fostering global scientific networks, open science, and advancing reproducible research practices.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives. I also enjoy puzzles, exploring diverse cultures through travel, and applying creativity to projects in bricolage.
