Ready for BioData Management: Intensive Course held at UCoimbra with two days of hands-on training!

Reday4Intensive Coimbra

The Ready for BioData Management: Intensive Course took place on 9–10 October at the CNC, University of Coimbra, bringing together researchers, students, and data professionals for two engaging days of hands-on training in Research Data Management (RDM). Across the programme, participants navigated the complete data lifecycle — from planning and documentation through to sharing and reuse — while working directly with key tools and platforms such as Galaxy, Dataverse, and the Data Stewardship Wizard.

The opening day focused on core RDM concepts and stimulated lively discussions around good data practices within the life sciences. The second day strengthened the practical dimension, guiding attendees through real-world scenarios and encouraging active development of technical skills and workflows.
This training initiative was delivered under the umbrella of the GLIM-BioData RDM Centre, coordinated by BioData.pt | ELIXIR-PT, and forms part of a national effort to reinforce capacity in FAIR data management, data stewardship, and open science across Portuguese research institutions
