On 22 September 2025, the Research Data Management Centre GLIM-BioData and CIMAR-LA successfully hosted a practical training session on eLabFTW at CCMAR, University of Algarve (Campus de Gambelas, Building 1, Room 0.10, Faro).
The event, designed for researchers, laboratory technicians and data managers, focused on promoting best practices in data management and reproducibility. Participants explored the main features of eLabFTW, including experiment documentation, inventory management and team collaboration tools.
The programme featured an introduction to GLIM-BioData.pt, an overview of eLabFTW accompanied by a lecture on electronic lab notebooks (ELNs), a hands-on demonstration with guided practice, and further exercises with a Q&A session before concluding remarks.
The training was led by Bruno Louro, Maria Paola Tomasino and Luciana Peixoto, who guided attendees through both theoretical and practical aspects of the platform. Participants engaged actively throughout the session, ensuring a productive learning experience.
This initiative underlines the ongoing commitment of GLIM-BioData to supporting the research community through capacity building and the adoption of effective digital tools.
