Last week, BioData.pt was represented at Encontro Ciência 2025, held in Carcavelos, by Inês Chaves, Miguel Cisneiros, and Gil Poiares Oliveira. During the event, the team presented three posters that highlighted strategic areas of work within Portugal’s life sciences data infrastructure. These included GLIM-BioData, the national competence centre for life and health data management; Ready for BioData Management, a training initiative aimed at preparing the next generation of scientists in research data management best practices; and BioData.pt’s ongoing efforts to establish the Portuguese node of the European Genome-Phenome Archive (EGA), which will ensure secure and GDPR-compliant access to national genomic and clinical data. The participation contributed to increased visibility of BioData.pt’s mission and reinforced its role in supporting data-driven life sciences research in Portugal.
