Miguel Cisneiros participated in the PHENET-EMPHASIS Data Management Training held in Paris from December 4–6, 2024. This program brought together researchers, data managers, and bioinformaticians to focus on advanced data management practices in phenotyping research.
The training included hands-on workshops and expert-led sessions covering topics such as data standardization (MIAPPE & Crop Ontology), metadata management, and the use of platforms like PHIS (Phenotyping Hybrid Information System). Participants engaged in activities like managing sequence data, using AI for image and data extraction, and leveraging cloud infrastructure to deploy workflows.
The event also featured collaborative discussions on FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and practical guidance on data submission to repositories like Dataverse and Zenodo. Experts from institutions like INRAE, Cornell University, and the University of Naples contributed their insights, creating a rich learning environment.
Miguel's involvement highlights his commitment to advancing research data management, fostering collaboration, and adopting cutting-edge tools in phenotyping.
