As part of the Bioinformatics Open Days 2025, held from March 26 to 28 at the University of Minho, Braga, BioData.pt hosted the roundtable "Research Data Management Centres for Living Data: Driving Open Science and Innovation" on the morning of March 26.
The session, led by BioData.pt, brought together representatives from key Research Data Management (RDM) Centres for Living Data, including the FAIRway and GBIF Centres, as well as the GLIM-BioData Centre coordinated by BioData.pt itself. The meeting enabled the identification of shared interests and opportunities for collaboration.
Discussions focused on how RDM centres are contributing to the advancement of Open Science, fostering interoperability, data reuse, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in life and environmental sciences.
This session highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in building sustainable and responsive infrastructures to support innovation and long-term value creation from scientific data.
