On 17 June, during the National Data Stewards Network meeting organised by Re.Data, BioData.pt officially announced the creation of a national Core Group of Data Stewards for Life and Health, an initiative supported by the GLIM-BioData RDM Centre.
The Core Group is designed to bring together data stewards, bioinformaticians and professionals across Portugal, with the purpose of promoting best practices, strengthening collaboration and ensuring alignment in the management of life and health research data. Its mission also includes advancing Open Science and FAIR principles, increasing the visibility of relevant training opportunities, events and career pathways, and fostering synergies while avoiding duplication of efforts.
