From May 6 to 8, BioData.pt took part in Jornadas FCCN 2025 in Aveiro — a national event dedicated to digital services for science, education, and research. Throughout the event, the BioData.pt team shared ongoing work to enhance data infrastructure and support researchers in managing life and health data.
Gil Poiares Oliveira presented the DMportal and the GLIM project, highlighting how these initiatives are empowering the research community in Portugal through better data management, interoperability, and adoption of the FAIR principles.
The event also brought fantastic news: Miguel Cisneiros won 3rd place in the contest “A tua ideia, o nosso próximo serviço digital” with his project “CiênciaVitae Uploader”. This AI-powered tool uses OCR and natural language processing to automatically extract data from CVs and pre-fill key fields in the CiênciaVitae platform — a major step toward simplifying researchers' workflows and improving usability. Congratulations to both for their contributions!
