BioData.pt hosted a new Day2Day Data Management Course aimed at Life Sciences researchers. This one-day course was delivered by trainers Daniel Faria, Jorge Oliveira and Carolina Ventura Costa, and was attended by a total of 100 trainees from four BioData.pt Associates, namely:
- CIIMAR (Centro Interdisciplinar de Investigação Marinha e Ambiental) - 28 participants
- FCUL (Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa) - 25 participants
- ITQB NOVA (Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier) - 29 participants
- CEBAL (Centro de Biotecnologia Agrícola e Agro-Alimentar do Alentejo) - 18 participants
This course covered diverse topics such as FAIR Principles and Open Science best practices, Data Management Plans, metadata standards and ontologies, an overview of online data management resources, and practical exercises related to data documentation using an Electronic Laboratory Notebook and data sharing using DataVerse. It aimed to provide tools and improve the efficiency of data management throughout the Data Life Cycle, in order to help researchers with the day-to-day data management aspects of research activities.
